When I get cold

Get cold is not a very server illness, however you will lose energy and feel tired always. Sometimes, you cannot even go to work because of getting cold.

Usually, the beginning of getting cold is due to too much yin or yang so that the body loses the balance. Therefore, the illness and symptoms are shown very easily. You may have a stuffy nose, sore throat, feeling cold and all other surface symptoms.

In order to avoid suffering a lot from this illness, we need to help our body back to balance as soon as possible. The best and most effective way to back to balance is using acupuncture.

If you are at the very early stage of cold, you can use acupuncture needles to puncture Yemen (TE2) with reducing method. You could insert the acupuncture needles on TE2 about 0.5-1.5 cun. The specific insertion level is vary for different kinds of people. Inserting acupuncture needles under skin about 0.5 cun for kids, 1.0 cun for adults and 1.5 cun for people with larger hands. Leave the needles on hand about 15-30 minutes and needling every 5-10 minutes. You will recognize the effects after the first treatment. The typical feeling is your back will get hot, and then your legs getting cool or hot. All the symptoms including coughing and stuffy nose will disappear very soon. If you are at the early stage, you can just puncture the left side.

Yemen(TE2,液门) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian of Hand. It is the Ying-spring and water point of the sanjiao. Yemen is between the ring finger and little finger.

If you have more server symptoms, you can insert acupuncture needles on both sides.

The last tip I would like to mention is that if you are afraid of needles, you can use moxa to do moxibustion on Yemen. It will achieve very similar effects.

I hope acupuncture needles and acupuncture could help more people keep balance and have a healthy life.
